Rolling Start Procedure
Hi Guys.
Since we will be doing rolling starts for 2nd and 3rd races in a meeting, we need to clarify how to do them.
1: Pole position dictates the pace
2: Race starts when you cross the line and start lap 2
3: Always stay behind the car directly in front of you until you cross the line.
4: Pass only after you cross the line and race starts otherwise its deemed as an illegal pass just as passing under yellow flags are.
Distance between cars is up to drivers, this allows for some strategy. Its up to YOU to judge when to accelerate hard!

Re: Rolling Start Procedure
So if the driver ahead completely misses the start we still have to wait behind them until start/finish line ? Lol sorry for so many questions, just need to clarify if there are any exceptions to the rule ;-)

That could cause all sorts of problem what with people not paying attention. I think personally as long as it's deemed that you havant put the hammer down to early then overtaking prior to the start finish line should be permitted. All you need is one driver dithering about which will cause a whole load of cars passing illegally otherwise. Can't penalise the drivers that are on the ball. So much momentum can be lost due to holding off the throttle. Will split the field to quickly.

Lol, if the driver infront of you crashes, then you may pass him yes. You allowed to put the hammer down anytime, as long as you dont pass the car infront of you before the line. Some drivers will try break your momentum, other might try catch you sleeping and go when you not expecting it, its all part of the strategy of rolling starts, and some of the fun!!!
Re: Rolling Start Procedure
Pole man yes but if those behind don't react quickly to poleman flooring it, are the followers of the slow reacting drivers supposed to suffer a slow start as well? Ok if that's the case, just want to be clear in case the situation arises. Thanks .

Re: Rolling Start Procedure
In real WTCC, cars cruise up 2x2 once the light goes green theyre free to race. If it was a standing start you would pass before the start finish line so same should apply here. The trick is not confusing what we do on our rolling starts as a safety car. If it was safety car then yes no passing til crossed the line
